A live reconstruction of an imagined event.
A servant stands at a long table carefully and methodically ironing the morning newspapers. Video images from small camera fitted to the front of the iron are fed live to screens throughout the performance venue.
The newspapers used are a full set of originals published in the UK on 12th september 2001.
The ironing of daily newspapers was a traditional task for household servants in the UK and is to a lesser degree still practiced today. Originally performed as a practical measure to seal the ink onto the page so as not to dirty the hands of the reader.
