Collaboration with Alice Francis.

We filmed the demolition of a 1930s Art Deco Cinema and then screened the film on its original screen at the demolition site. As member of the demo team, I had full access to the site and filmed the process throughout.

Clips of movies previously shown through the cinemas history where also mixed in live with the demolition footage.

I was interested in the impossibility of the cinema still existing after it had disappeared..

The Palace Cinema opened in 1930 in Castle Douglas, Dumfries & Galloway.

It is closed by 1987, and was converted into a bingo hall. This closed in 1997 and remained so until demolition in 2003. Private housing was built on the site afterwards.
